What was the highlight of Hotel Santa Maria de las Aguas Peñol
Good for families, will not come back with senior citizens and will not eat in the restaurant.
I love the view, it was clean, hotel was nicer that the pictures and the employees were nice.
Not all facilities were easily accessible by senior people. The restaurant serves reasonably good food but it is more expensive than outside restaurants.

A paradisical property blessed with amazing water views and the Peñol rock.
A paradisical property with a location blessed with water views of the lake-like dam and the massive Peñol rock. The property is lovingly curated with flora and props and walking trails that offer beautiful frames for postcard pictures from almost anywhere on the grounds. A huge infinity pool and 2 hot tubs provide a nice touch to relax with a cocktail while you admire the views and the charming, rustic surroundings. Nice breakfast with a good variety of offerings.
The rooms are very basic and could use a bit more decor to match what you see when you step out. Especially if it is a premium room with views of the rock and the dam. More attention could also be paid to making the rooms more private; our neighbors in the room beside us could see into our room from one of our windows that is by their balcony. They were on the balcony until nearly midnight our last night. So we had to use books and other objects to cover the gap at the bottom of the window where we could see them and they most certainly could see us coming out of the bathroom or in the bed.
